Week one down

One week in….According to the bathroom scale, 8.6 pounds down, BMI down 1.1, gained .7% muscle mass, dropped .7% fat.  Feel pretty good.  Definitely a reduction in appetite, and oddly very little desire for alcohol.  No side effects to speak of, except when I eat by habit rather than what my body’s asking for.

Took my second shot this morning.  No real tapering off of the effectiveness of last week’s, but I definitely feel it doing its stuff shortly after the injection.  Hunger is greatly suppressed, and I’ve had no desire to, “bored eat”.  I’m capable of eating more than I’m hungry for, but the couple times I have, I immediately feel horrible (nausea, bloating, headache).  This works for me, as my desire is to use the GLP-1 as a behavioral modification tool, not a lifelong treatment.

I’m logging all my food intake via Lose It!  I’m targeting at least 40 grams of fiber and 100 grams of protein daily and targeting about 1,500 calories.  My sugar intake was already low, and I’m driving it lower.  I’m getting at least a gallon of water every day.  I’m taking a rather extensive supplement and probiotic package (which I hope to reduce if/when my LDL numbers drop) which includes AG-1 green powder, D3, methylated folate, NAD+, CoQ-10, fish oil, turmeric, magnesium, and cholate.

So no sleep issues, no constipation or diarrhea, no hunger pains, no fatigue, no muscle pain, no weakness.  With a week’s experience, I’d say this was worth it so far.
